5 Tips for Parenting an Introverted Child
Babble
The definition of an introvert speaks more to temperament: we require time alone to recharge and pursue solitary passions.

Sharilee Swaity's insight:
Some sensitive tips for parenting an introverted child. One sound simply enough: don't try to make them different, but we live in a culture where extroversion is expected as part of social protocol, and children are pressed to socialize. Perhaps we need to re-think the whole concept of teaching children to socialize, in light of the fact that many of them are introverts.

Another good suggestion from the article: take children to a birthday party early, so that they can get used to their surroundings, before the crowd arrives.Image may be NSFW.

And Johnny Carson: he was such a good listener, an introvert characteristic, and that skill made him world-famous.Image may be NSFW.
